Advisors & Collaborators

Ian Davison: Former Founder and Director of the Earthmoves Ltd. and visiting Professor at the Department of Earth Sciences, Royal Holloway, University of London. A reference in South Atlantic geology, Ian is one of the most prominent salt tectonics experts in the world with more than 100 publications in the most relevant scientific magazines.

Ricardo Pereira: Assistant Researcher at GeoBioTec (Univ. Nova Lisboa) and Researcher/External collaborator at Instituto Dom Luiz (Univ. Lisboa). Graduated in Geology from Lisbon University, MSc in Stratigraphy and Sedimentology at Lisbon University and PhD from Cardiff University, developing research on the evolution of passive continental margins, salt tectonics and subsurface energy storage. With over 22 years experience in the O&G industry, Ricardo has worked as regional exploration geologist for PARTEX Oil and Gas, and Petroleum Development Oman, contributing to world class discoveries in major salt provinces, including the discovery of pre-salt Santos Basin, the Oman salt provinces and offshore Angola.

Noel Moreira: Researcher at the Institute for Research and Advanced Training of the University of Évora and integrated member of the Institute of Earth Sciences (ICT), Évora campus, Portugal. Noel has been dedicated his career to the geodynamics of the Iberian Massif, with a focus on cartography, structural geology, stratigraphy and geochemistry, having published more than 20 articles on these subjects in indexed journals.

Mário Cachão: Associate Professor at the Geology Department of Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon. Scientific interests in the area of Paleontology, particularly in the study of quantitative paleoecology and paleoceanography of calcareous nannofossils. Mário develops scientific outreach activities and informal teaching of Geology as coordinator and promoter of Rocha Amiga (“Friendly Rock") Program and is consultant for Geoparks. Member of D. Luís Institute (IDL), author and co-author of around one hundred scientific publications.
